ABF Summer
Research Diversity Program
This program of summer research fellowships
is designed to introduce undergraduates from
diverse backgrounds to the rewards and
demands of a research-oriented career in the
field of law and social science.
APA Summer Science Fellowship
Expenses-paid, intensive summer training
program, allows up to 12 talented students
to be placed in the psychology laboratories
of some of the most outstanding researchers
in the Washington, DC area for up to 7
weeks.
NIH Undergraduate Scholarship
Program (UGSP)
Up to $20,000 scholarship for 1 year
(renewable up to 4 years) Offers competitive
scholarships to students from disadvantaged
backgrounds who are committed to careers in
biomedical, behavioral, and social science
health-related research. The program offers
Scholarship support, paid research training
at the NIH during the summer, and paid
employment and training at the NIH after
graduation.
NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates
Different universities funded by NSF offer

APS Student
Grant Competition
$300 available to undergraduate student
affiliates of the Association for
Psychological Science (APS) to support
undergraduate research. Applications are due
annually in October.
APS Summer
Research Grants
$5000 grants available to undergraduate Psi
Chi members to provide funds for members to
conduct summer research with an APS sponsor.
Applications are due annually on May 1.
Psi Chi
Undergraduate Research Grants
$1500 available to Psi Chi student members
to fund undergraduate research.
Applications are due annually on February 1
and November 1.
Psi Chi
Undergraduate Psychology Research Conference
Grants
$1000 available to Psi Chi chapters to
support local/regional undergraduate
psychology research conferences. Funding is
intended for conferences that will invite
student research presenters from at least
three schools in the area and will notify
all Psi Chi chapters in the geographic area
of the conference. Applications are due
annually on October 1.

American Bar Foundation Doctoral Fellowships in
Law and Social Science
$27,000 stipend and $1500 for research
expenses for "original and significant research
on law, the legal profession, and legal
institutions." Fellows are held in residence at
ABF in Chicago. Applications are due annually on
December 15.
Law and
Social Science Dissertation Fellowship and
Mentoring Program (LSS Fellowship)
The Law and Society Association, in
collaboration with the American Bar
Foundation and the National Science
Foundation, has launched the Law and Social
Science Dissertation Fellowship and
Mentoring Program (LSS Fellowship) which is
designed to foster scholars in the Law and
Society tradition and whose scholarship is
on Law and Inequality.
Ford Foundation
Pre-doctoral Diversity Fellowships
$20,000 stipend and $2000 in tuition for
students who "have demonstrated superior
academic achievement, are committed to a
career in teaching and research at the
college or university level, show promise of
future achievement as scholars and teachers,
and are well prepared to use diversity as a
resource for enriching the education of all
students." Students in J.D. or joint
law & psychology degree programs are not
eligible. The 2010 Application Deadline is
November 2, 2009.
Ford Foundation

$21,000 stipend for students who have
achieved Doctoral Candidancy "have
demonstrated superior academic achievement,
are committed to a career in teaching and
research at the college or university level,
show promise of future achievement as
scholars and teachers, and are well prepared

Students in J.D. or joint law & psychology
degree programs are not eligible. The 2010

National Science Foundation (NSF)
Graduate Research Fellowship Program
$30000 stipend plus tuition allowance. The
2010 Application Deadline is November 5,
2009. Students in J.D. or joint law &
psychology programs are not eligible.
Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards for Individual Predoctoral Fellows (F31) The purpose of this individual predoctoral research training fellowship is to provide support for promising doctoral candidates who will be performing dissertation research and training in scientific health-related fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers.
Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards for Individual Predoctoral Fellowships (F31) to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research The purpose of this individual predoctoral research training fellowship is to improve the diversity of the health-related research workforce by supporting the training of predoctoral students from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented.
National Defense Science and Engineering
Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowships
3-year stipend around $31,000 to support
students "in fields important to national
defense needs," including Cognitive &
Behavioral Sciences.
APA Dissertation
Research Award Program
$1000 to $5000 research grants to student
affiliates or associate members of the American
Psychological Association (APA) for dissertation
research funding. Applications are due annually
on September 15.
APAGS
Diversity Dissertation Scholarship
$1500 available to graduate student members
of American Psychological Association of
Graduate Students (APAGS) "to encourage
excellence in research within the field of
psychology concerning issues of diversity
such as varied ethnic backgrounds, women's
issues, ageism, sexual orientation and
disability." Applications are due
annually in May.
APF/COGDOP Graduate Research Scholarships in Psychology
$1000 to $5000 from the American
Psychological Foundation (APF) and the
Council of Graduate Departments of
Psychology (COGDOP) to fund Master's Thesis
or Dissertation research. Only a graduate
department of psychology that is a member of
COGDOP may submit nominations. Applications
are due annually on June 15.
APS Student
Grant Competition
$500 available to graduate student
affiliates of the Association for
Psychological Science (APS) to support
graduate research. Applications are due
annually in October.
NSF SBE Doctoral Dissertation
Research Improvement Grants
$6,000-$12,000 for one year through National Science Foundation's
Law and Social Science Program.
Applications are due annually January 15 and

NSF Faculty Early Career Development
(CAREER) Program
Grants given in "support of junior faculty
who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars
through outstanding research, excellent
education and the integration of education
and research within the context of the
mission of their organizations."
William T. Grant Foundation Scholars Grant
$350,000 over 5 years intended to support "promising early-career
researchers from diverse disciplines, who have
demonstrated success in conducting high-quality
research and are seeking to further develop and
broaden their expertise." Grants support
research "to improve the everyday settings of youth ages 8
to 25 in the United States."
Bronson-Dillehay Award for
Research, Scholarship, and Education in
Procedural Justice
$1000 to members of the American Society of
Trial Consultants for those making a
contribution through research, scholarship, and
training on procedural justice issues.
The
Litigation Research Fund
$5,000 and $20,000 for legal academics and
social scientists for scholarship relevant to litigation policy
and scholarship bearing on litigation
practice. Applications are due annually in
February.
